The press is set to be installed alongside an AB Graphics Digicon 3000 finishing unit, which will provide DPI with a complete end-to-end packaging system.

 

The sale was supported by HP’s local channel partner in Kenya, Elite Digital, along with its own regional representatives. The landmark installation is set to be completed in late 2016, and as the company’s first digital press, will allow DPI to enter entirely new markets.

 

With a 740 x 1100mm image format, the HP Indigo 20000 enables DPI the digital freedom to work across a range of applications from labels and flexible packaging, to shrink sleeves, in-mold labels and folding cartons. With zero set-up, minimal waste and easy versioning capabilities, the digital press will also allow the company to service an entirely new range of customers by making short print runs profitable, providing an important competitive edge against printers using conventional technologies.
