Mobile printing with the PrintbyXerox App

Mobile technology has significantly changed both where and how business gets done. Today, employees can work from virtually anywhere and at any time or place. However, no matter how mobile workforces may have become, people still need to print. Xerox's PrintbyXerox App, a cloud-based mobile print solution, enables mobile workers to raise their productivity levels, regardless of where their business takes them – whether they're travelling the globe or simply in another part of their building.
Shane Spies, Marketing Product Manager for Xerox office solutions at Bytes Document Solutions, explains that the PrintbyXerox offering allows a user to e-mail the relevant document to a universal address.
"This mail can be retrieved at any Xerox device that has the PrintByXerox application installed on it. The user simply enters their credentials and their print queue is displayed on the device. They can then easily select the attachments that they want printed," he says.
"Since the original mail is saved in the cloud, the print job can be released at any Xerox device around the world, provided it has the app installed on it and the user has access to the device. This solution should add enormous convenience to mobile workers across the globe."
PrintbyXerox enables users to easily print from smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops. Since no client software or print driver download is required to print, the solution also facilitates printing support for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives.
Spies adds that the PrintbyXerox app provides robust protection at every level and gives organisations the security and control they require, by securely holding documents until the user logs in and chooses to release it for print.
PrintbyXerox is standard on all Xerox i-Series devices. This series of mobile and cloud-ready multi-functional printers was launched globally in March 2016 and is currently available in South Africa.
